Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A search box may send a name, date of birth, or other entered terms directly to the outside company that operates the tool. That company processes the request and supplies its results. Cook County Warrant Records does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When someone emails us, the message and return address may be retained long enough to respond and maintain necessary correspondence. We do not share that message outside our organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Website servers may collect ordinary technical information when a page loads, including:
- The device's Internet Protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
- The date and time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics services help measure traffic, page use, and technical performance in aggregate. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although doing so may change how some website functions operate.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information may be used to operate and secure the website, route a requested search to the appropriate partner, understand which pages are useful, diagnose technical faults, improve speed, and display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
No Warrant Data on File
Cook County Warrant Records does not host, compile, sell, or maintain official warrant databases or personal warrant files. Its civic material explains how to contact the Cook County Sheriff's Office, Superior Court of Cook County, Magistrate Court, Probate Court, and municipal clerks. Georgia provides no single public statewide warrant index. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes displayed on some pages. Information entered there is handled under the provider's privacy policy, retention terms, and sharing practices, not this policy. We do not control those practices. Review the provider's terms before submitting personal information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Cook County Sheriff, Cook courts, Georgia government resources, legal-aid organizations, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy rules govern. Advertising providers may also use their own systems to measure activity across websites.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:
- Search providers that process a query a visitor submits
- Analytics vendors that measure site use and performance
- Advertising networks that place or measure advertisements
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information within our control. No website, network, or storage system can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or another breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied personal information, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary with a user's residence and the law that applies. Georgia's consumer-protection framework and other applicable law may permit a person to ask what personal data we hold, request correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. ยงยง 50-18-70 through 50-18-77, governs access to records held by Georgia public agencies; it does not turn this privately operated website into a government records custodian.
- Request access to personal information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion when applicable law permits it
- Opt out of eligible forms of processing
Updates to This Policy
